Description | In this interview, Lewistown residents Ernest Hruska and his wife, Lulu Criswell Hruska discuss the history of the Lewistown public schools and general local history. Lulu includes descriptions of her experiences as a teacher in the Lewistown schools and Ernest describes homesteading and ranching and local residents. Ernest Hruska was born near Lewistown, Montana, in 1906, the son of Vaclev and Anna Hruska. He first attended the local Catholic school, and then transferred to Hawthorne School. He then attended the Junior High School at the "Tar Paper Palace" 1921-1922. He then worked on the family farm. He died November 28, 1983. |
