INTERVIEW with CHARLES E. MARSHALL November 12, 1983 This is Anna Zellick who is interviewing Charles Marshall at my home on 721 West Spring Street. Today is November 12, 1983. In behalf of this historic survey, currently in progress, we are interviewing Mr. Marshall because of his early recollections of Lewistown. If I'm not mistaken, he is a Lewistown native. When were you born, Mr. Marshall, if I might ask? lfillRSHALL: I was born on October 30, 1910, here in Lewistown. ZELLICK: You lived here during most of your childhood; isn't that correct? MARSHALL: I lived here in Lewistown until I finished high school ZELLICK: What year was that? MARSHALL: 1928. ZELLICK: What do you remember about the Lewistown buildings, the happenings that would be of interest to the people associated with this survey? Remember that the buildings that are being included in this survey are located on Main Street, Janeaux and Broadway, with a few additional structures included such as three beautiful homes on Boulevard and a few others. MARSHALL: Well, I don't remember when these buildings were built, at least a lot of them. I remember as a young child being down town on those days when I would get out. That was before Main Street was paved. Over the yec rs I can remember certain buildings
