Surprise-Surprise they were hoping for perhaps 40 - 50 passengers and came up with a staggering 405 pre-school thru the adult riders. It was such a success it took 3 pilots, Dallas O'Connor, Joe Brand and George Bryan and part of Friday morning to get everyone airborne and back to Mother Earth. Charity Wing, age 87 was one of the older kids to go for an airplane ride. The pilots enjoyed the enthusiasm of the kids as much as the youngsters enjoyed their rides. A small miracle "no one became sick", too busy looking for their house and Gramma's! Most identified the school and A&S Industries. These things make everyone feel good - need more of them. Payment Deadline October 27th Farmers Reminded of October 31 Deadline For Nominations Only a few days remain to nominate farmers as Candidates in the upcoming ASC community ele-tions, according to Muriel Park, CED. First duty of the newly elected community committee members will be to serve as delegates to elect new and/or alternate members of the county ASC committee. Park reminded producers that this is an important occasion for the farmer-chosen team of ASC community committee members. The ASC community committee election will be conducted by mail from November 25 to Decern-' ber 5. Voters may also get ballots at the ASCS county office. By turning in a total of five or more petitions, farmers in each ASC community have the opportunity to prepare the slate of nominees themselves, according to Park. Shortly after Oct. 31, all petitions will be reviewed. If five or more valid petitions have been received for an ASC community, the county ASCS office will prepare a slate containing the names of all eligible nominees. If less than five valid petitions are received for an ASC community, the incum- bent county committee " will add nominees needed to complete the slate. To submit a valid petition, three or more eligible ASCS farm voters must sign a statement endorsing an eligible candidate. The statement must include certification that the nominee will serve if elected. Petitions must be dated and mailed or hand-delivered to the county ASC office no later than Oct. 31.
