Erik, a senior, was also chosen for the First team of the All Conference Team as an Offensive Running Back . He was also named on the 2nd team as a Defensive Back . Also named to the All Conference 2nd team were James Wilson cs center and Albert Kirn as a Lir>e Backer . FALL CONCERT TONIGHT The Poplar High School Music Department will present the annual Fall Conceit at 8 p.m. Thursday, itoday) Nov . 13, in the High School Gym. The High School Concert Bard, Concert Choir, and Stage Bond will be performing in this concert. The admission is free . Recent changes in snowmobile laws require registration by July I of each /ear rather then Jan. I under the old rule, according to Bob Bird, safety and training bureau chief for the department of fish and game . Persons who have registered snowmobiles during 1975 will only have to pay a six months fee to register them up to July of 1976. They may registe register at any time up to H January I. Snomobiles may no longer be operated between Jan. I and 20 without current decals. Owners of newly purchased snowmobiles have 10 days in which to register their new machines, provided a bill of sale reciting the dote of purchase is carried on the snowmobile at all times. To register, snowmobile owners must go to their county assessors. When the machine has been assessed, county treasurers issue a registration cord and decal to be displayed on the snowmobile . ORDINANCE TO BE ENFORCED The City Council held a special meeting on Nov . 5 to discuss the problem of dwelling places offered for rent within the City Limits that have been permitted to fall into such bad repair as to constitute a hazard to the health and safety of the persons I ivlng in them . The City Council has directed the Board of Health to inspect all buildings offered for rent, within the City Limits beginning with those about which complaints have been received or which from the outside appear to be dilapidated and unsafe. Those buildings which are found to be unfit for human habitation will be ordered to be vacated until such time as they are fit. POPLAR. mriTANA W55 HOOKEY RATE UP If you have suspected that there are a lot of kids playing hookey this year, you are right. Any day of the week during school houts you won't have to look very hard to find kids of school age who aren't where the law says they are to be . During the first 46 days of school the absenteeism rate has averaged about 20�t of the Indian children who are in school . Most of the absenteeisi involves children in grades four thru eight. Most parents don't realize that their children are not in school Many of them actually do go to school, but skip out during the day. Somre forge excuses to get back into school, so the parents don't know what's happening. The HomeCouncel-Of, David Red Fox, is working with these children and their parents to find cut why the children don't want to come to schoo and to help them resolve the problems that are turning tt.em off. Some of the problems stem from the home, some from the inner conflicts of the children and some from the school situation. The community could help with this problem. If you see kids that should be in school, call David Red Fox at 3409, extension 28 and let him know where the kids are. If you ore a parent who would like help in dealing with your school children, call David. He will be glad to talk to you about �vhat can be done.
