James Corcoran built the house in 1897. He built it for his new wife, Anna Trepp, who was the widow of an 1860 pioneer, Martin Trepp. Mr. Corcoran built the house in Lewistown as an exact replica of a fifteen room brick house he had built and lived in while residing in New York. It was located on 2nd Avenue North between Corcoran and Evelyn Streets. It was later used as a hospital by Dr. Brice until he moved to Pine Street in 1919.
