Ruth Browning, wife of Walker Browning. Ruth Merryweather married Walker Browning at Omaha, October 18,1872. Arrived in Billings from Deadwood in 1883. A recipe is published in a local 1893 Methodist cookbook. Walker Browning died in 1925. Article says that Mrs. Browning died several years ago. See his story in Walker Browning, Billings Pioneer, Billings Gazette, February 8, 1925, p. 3. Members of First Methodist Church and First African Methodist Episcopal Church of Billings. Lived at 106 South Twenty-fifth street. She died in April 1923 - See Mrs. Browning, Pioneer, Dies, Billings Gazette, April 21, 1923, p.8.
